Handy Handbags: )

Good morning craft friends and I hope that you are all OK today.

The cards I’m sharing today aren’t cards at all.
They are sweet bags which I made using the beautiful Chelsea Shoulder Bag die.

Now I can promise you that when your die arrives, you will not want to put it down, these are very VERY addictive.

Not only are they addictive to make but they are super easy to use and put together as well, and as you might expect, very versatile too.

So ….

… this is the first one.

I actually used fabric to make this and it cuts like a dream.
What you need to do is get some iron on interfacing or bonder and iron it on the reverse of the fabric – don't use the steam setting on the iron – then you are just about good to go. Place the fabric side against your cutting plate and the die on top of the interfacing and run it through the machine.

I used the outside edges only here.
The fabric had different shades so I used the lighter shade for the flap and the darker for the body of the bag.

I cut the same outside edges using card and just stuck the fabric pieces on to them. It could not have been quicker to make.

I used Velcro to fasten the bag and the clasp is just a button I found – I just cut the shank off and glued it on with a hot glue gun.

The second bag  …..

… is this one here – very different but again it’s easy peasy.

This fabric is a very sheer and again I used the iron on backing. It gives a lighter look as you can see the backing through the fabric but I didn't mind at all.

This time, I used plain card for the sides and the corners and I covered them with some Nuvo Charcoal Glitter.

Again I used Velcro to fasten and I added a button and a bit of white tulle. Then to finish off, I went around the edges with some Nuvo Pearl White Crystal Drops.

I am sooo going to make some more of these. Don't you think they would look fabulous as a holder for those little plastic gift cards you buy in the supermarkets? I hate just shoving them inside a card!!

So that’s today’s share and I hope you like them. I have made one using card which I’ll show you next time.

Have a lovely day and a great weekend and crafty hugs to all,

Dawny xxx
